Richard Blais wins McGraw prize in Education
Richard Blais, Vice-President of Project Lead The Way (PLTW), is a winner of the Harold W. McGraw, Jr., Prize in Education, which recognizes outstanding individuals who have dedicated themselves to improving education and whose accomplishments are making a difference. Each winner receives a gift of $25,000. Blais began his career as a secondary school teacher and also has worked as an engineer. He co-founded Project Lead The Way (PLTW), whose mission is to create partnerships with our nation's schools to prepare an increasing and more diverse group of students to be successful in science, engineering and engineering technology. Under Blais' leadership, PLTW has expanded across all 50 states and the District of Columbia to 3,000 schools and 300,000 students.

Christopher Ginty - NH Society of Professional Engineers Award
Christopher Ginty, a 9th-12th grade teacher at Merrimack Valley High School, was selected in recognition of his excellence in the teaching of science and mathematics. One of Chris's students wrote; "What more could any teacher aspire to be than what Mr. Ginty is to me - an inspiration, an exemplary role model, an attentive listener, and an educator who will never be forgotten and whose lessons will serve me for my lifetime."
The New Hampshire Mathematics and Science Teacher of the Year awards program was initiated by the New Hampshire Society of Professional Engineers to show appreciation for the contributions that mathematics and science teachers make in developing student skills and interest in mathematics and science; areas fundamental to the practice of engineering. The awards are co-sponsored by the University of New Hampshire College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, New Hampshire Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers, New Hampshire Teachers of Mathematics, New Hampshire Science Teachers Association, and the New Hampshire Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Val Zanchuk - PETAC Award
At the Women In Engineering Conference held at the University of New Hampshire in April 2007, Val Zanchuk P.E, President of Graphicast, Inc. in Jaffrey, NH was presented with a plaque in recognition of his volunteer work with PETAC.
The plaque reads, "In appreciation of your years of service to the New Hampshire Pre-Engineering Technology Council Advisory Council and the NH Young Engineering Community."
